It works only on the personal OneDrive of whoever is signed in, not on SharePoint sites or other people's drives.
Its 17 tools cover the everyday file chores: reading drive details and quota, listing a folder, searching by name, reading metadata (also from a sharing link), reading and creating small text or binary files, creating, renaming, deleting, copying and moving items, sending sharing invitations with read or write rights, and setting or removing a Microsoft Purview sensitivity label. Copy and move run in the background and return a token that a separate tool polls for progress.
Microsoft marks the server as preview and, on the same reference page, calls the app-specific Microsoft 365 servers (OneDrive among them) a legacy set kept for backward compatibility; it tells new projects to use Work IQ MCP instead. A few defaults are only visible in the parameter tables: folder listings return the top 20 items, new files land in the drive root unless parentFolderId is given, and a label change without a justification is logged as 'Changed by MCPServer'.
A Microsoft 365 work tenant with Agent 365, the OneDrive server present in the Tools registry of the Microsoft 365 admin center (availability varies by tenant, region, rollout, licensing and admin approval), the tenant ID to fill into the endpoint URL, and a Microsoft Entra sign-in of the user whose OneDrive it acts on. Sensitivity labels need the matching licence and configuration.
Preview: Microsoft says tool names and parameters may change and it is not meant for production; the app-specific servers are kept only for backward compatibility. Uploads and downloads are capped at 5 MB. Folder listing returns at most 20 items by default. Only the signed-in user's own OneDrive is reached; sharing-link metadata works only where the user already has explicit permission. Copy and move are asynchronous and need a status check.
Suits teams already on Microsoft 365 with Agent 365 who want an agent to tidy, read or share small files in a user's own OneDrive without running anything themselves, and who accept a preview, admin-gated service. For new builds Microsoft points to Work IQ MCP instead. For SharePoint document libraries, the SharePoint (Agent 365) server we hold covers sites and libraries; the ODSP remote server we hold is a separate Agent 365 server ID spanning OneDrive and SharePoint. Not a fit for personal Microsoft accounts or files over 5 MB.
