How the list is made
everymcpserver.com lists the MCP servers people actually use, and gives each one a page with what you need before you install it.
Where the servers come from
Five sources, read every day or two: the official MCP Registry, GitHub, npm, PyPI and Docker Hub. Anything published as an MCP server there is a candidate.
The popularity score
Each server gets one score from what people do with it. GitHub stars count 12 points for every tenfold (100 stars is 24 points, 1,000 is 36). Downloads count the best of npm downloads a week, PyPI downloads a month and Docker Hub pulls. Stars gained over the last 30 days add up to 10 points, and a server published by the company whose product it reaches adds 8. A server that lives in a folder of a repository it shares with other things did not earn all of that repository's stars: they count only up to the points of its own downloads. A repository archived by its maker, or a server deprecated by its maker or in the registry, scores nothing; one whose own code has not changed in a year counts half.
A server is on our list when its score reaches the bar, now 36. A server on the list that stays under the bar for 60 days leaves it. Being on the list costs nothing.
Submitted servers
Any public MCP server can be submitted by its maker, for free. Every submission gets the same review: is it a public, working MCP server, documented well enough to install and to write its page from? Popularity is not part of the review. It is free, and we write to the sender once it is done.
The pages
Each page is written from the server's own README, docs, package page and registry entry, and names its sources. Stars, downloads, licence, latest version, maker and last code change are looked up at GitHub, npm, PyPI and Docker Hub, about once a day. Install steps use the launch command the server's own docs give. "What it can reach" says what the server's own documentation shows; it is not a security audit. Read the code and its permissions before you give a server access to anything that matters.
