Helix Ultimate is JoomShaper's template framework for Joomla. This server works on a local copy of a Joomla site that uses it: you point it at the site's root folder with --path (it uses the current directory otherwise), and it finds the Helix plugin and every Helix-based template installed there, picking the default frontend template style unless a tool is given a template name or style ID.
It can read and rewrite the layout builder's row and column grid, and read or configure mega menu dropdowns for a menu item, checking that each row's columns add up to 12. It also writes boilerplate: a Joomla 4/5/6 template override in the template's html folder, or a new Helix feature class in its features folder. Two tools only inspect: one compiles the template's SCSS with an embedded Sass engine and reports errors, the other scans the template for old jQuery calls, deprecated JFactory/JRequest use and unregistered module positions. It also exposes read-only resources for workspace info, registered module positions, presets and Helix coding guidelines.
The published code shows how changes are stored: it reads the database host, user, password, name and table prefix from the site's own configuration.php and writes layout changes straight into the template style row in MySQL, then also into the template's options.json. Before a layout or menu change it saves a copy of the file under .helix-mcp/snapshots in the site folder, which helix_rollback restores (source: dist/chunk-LTYHKFBM.js in version 1.1.0).

Node.js to run it with npx. A local Joomla site folder with the Helix Ultimate system plugin and at least one Helix-based template. For changes to reach the live site, a configuration.php with database settings and a MySQL database reachable from where the server runs.
Limits
Only Joomla sites built on Helix Ultimate. Without a readable configuration.php (or with no db or dbprefix in it), or when MySQL cannot be reached, layout changes are written only to options.json and the database is left as it was. helix_rollback restores the most recent snapshot file only; in the 1.1.0 code it does not undo the database update, so the database and options.json can disagree after a rollback. The CLI reports its version as 1.0.0 even in release 1.1.0. Mega menu tools and the template parameter arrived in 1.1.0.
Who it suits
Joomla developers and agencies who build sites on Helix Ultimate templates and want an assistant to change layouts, set up mega menus or scaffold overrides on a local or development copy. Because it writes directly to the site's database using the credentials in configuration.php, it fits a development copy better than a production site. Anyone on another Joomla template or another CMS gets nothing from it.
