This is a local stdio server that puts Florian Bruniaux's Claude Code Ultimate Guide, a large community handbook for Anthropic's Claude Code CLI, behind MCP tools. A coding client can search the guide by topic and open the exact section a hit points to. It can also browse and fetch the guide's ready-made agents, skills, hooks and commands, look up Claude Code CLI releases or compare two versions, and query a security threat database by CVE or technique ID.
It can also keep a local copy of Anthropic's official Claude Code documentation. One tool downloads it as a baseline and another refreshes a second copy. Two more search that copy or list which pages changed between the two. There are 17 tools, one prompt (claude-code-expert) and 7 resources, among them the guide's structured index, llms.txt, the release history and a newer crosswalk of AI design patterns mapped to Claude Code features.
The package ships the index and the release history, so searching and listing work offline. The full guide text is not bundled. Reading a section, template, cheatsheet, changelog or threat entry fetches it from GitHub the first time and caches it under ~/.cache/claude-code-guide/ for 24 hours. Setting GUIDE_ROOT to a local checkout of the repository makes these tools read that copy instead.
In the code, search_guide and search_examples return 10 results by default and at most 20 with limit, search_official_docs returns 5 sections by default and at most 10, and read_section returns up to 500 lines per call. Running init_official_docs again overwrites both the saved baseline and the current copy (src/tools/official-docs.ts), so an older baseline is lost.
| Runtime | Node.js 18.14.1+ |
|---|---|
| Runs on | macOS, Windows, Linux |
Runs through npx, which needs network access to the npm registry on first run. Guide text that is not cached comes from GitHub, and the official-docs tools reach Anthropic's site when they build or refresh a snapshot. No account or key is needed.
It reads one community guide and Anthropic's Claude Code docs; it is not a general documentation search. search_guide returns at most 20 results (10 by default) and read_section at most 500 lines per call. search_official_docs and diff_official_docs work only after init_official_docs has built a snapshot. It is only partly offline: the first read of a section or template needs GitHub unless GUIDE_ROOT points at a checkout. The five /ccguide:* companion commands are not installed by the npm package and must be copied from the repository.
Suits Claude Code users who want their assistant to answer setup, hooks, skills or MCP questions from a curated guide, pull ready templates, or track what changed in Claude Code releases and Anthropic's docs. It is read-only on the guide, needs no account and runs on your own machine. It is not published by Anthropic, so its guide content is one author's view; for other tools or general docs, pick a server built for those. Teams wanting no outbound calls should clone the repository and set GUIDE_ROOT.
15 only read, 1 changes things, 1 can delete or overwrite. A ? marks an optional parameter.
