What it does

Mixpanel runs this server itself at https://mcp.mixpanel.com/mcp, with separate endpoints for EU (mcp-eu.mixpanel.com) and India (mcp-in.mixpanel.com) data residency. Nothing is installed: a client connects over streamable HTTP and the user signs in with their Mixpanel account.

It covers far more than reading charts. On the analytics side it runs insights, funnels, flows and retention queries, fetches saved reports and can render a chart widget for a query it has already run. It can also find projects, events, properties and property values, and look at a single user's session replays alongside their events. The rest of the tool set changes the project: building and editing dashboards, editing Lexicon metadata such as descriptions, tags, visibility and PII flags (in bulk, up to 50 at a time), merging duplicate event names, dismissing data quality issues, and creating cohorts, custom properties, lookup tables, saved metrics, experiments and feature flags.

The docs list 64 tools in all, a number the page itself never states. Four of them only return Mixpanel's best-practice guidance for setting up experiments and feature flags. Experiments and feature flags are an open beta, and Get-Audit-Log is a beta open to a limited set of customers on request.

Mixpanel also runs a second, separate MCP server at https://docs.mixpanel.com/mcp that serves its documentation rather than your data.

What it needs

A Mixpanel account with access to at least one project. An organization admin must turn MCP on in Settings → Org → Overview first, except for free and growth accounts created after August 1, 2026, where it is on by default. Free plans are subject to Query API limits. Codex CLI needs `codex mcp login mixpanel` to finish OAuth; ChatGPT needs Developer Mode for the EU or IN endpoints. Clients without native remote support connect through `npx -y mcp-remote` (Node.js).

Limits

Experiments and feature flags are in beta; audience targeting and cohort editing within them are not supported and must be done in the Mixpanel UI. Get-Audit-Log is available only to customers admitted to its beta. Service-account sign-in is also beta, and the Notion agent connector cannot use it. Bulk event and property edits are capped at 50 items per call. Enabling MCP can take up to 15 minutes to apply. Users in EU or India must point their client at the regional URL.

Who it suits

Teams already on Mixpanel who want an assistant to answer product questions, build boards or clean up Lexicon metadata without leaving their chat or editor. As the vendor's own hosted server, it needs no local runtime and follows each user's existing project permissions. Because many tools write and delete, cautious teams may want to connect with a read-limited Mixpanel role or a service account scoped to specific projects. Organizations whose admins will not enable MCP cannot use it at all.
