It answers questions about tracking setup, reports, APIs and other product topics by searching the docs and then reading the pages that match.
The endpoint exposes three tools: search_mixpanel for topic search, query_docs_filesystem_mixpanel, which runs read-only commands such as rg, ls, tree and cat against a virtual file tree of the doc pages and OpenAPI specs (nothing runs on the user's machine), and submit_feedback for reporting a doc page that looks wrong. Only the first two are described, loosely, on Mixpanel's pages as 'search and retrieval tools'; the tool list here was taken from the endpoint itself.
It is not the same as the Mixpanel MCP Server at https://mcp.mixpanel.com/mcp. That one signs in with OAuth and queries a user's own events, funnels and session replays; this one holds only public documentation, asks for no sign-in, and cannot see any project data. Mixpanel's docs suggest pairing the two: this endpoint for product knowledge, the other for live data.
An MCP client that can connect to a remote server over streamable HTTP (Claude Code, Cursor or similar) and network access to docs.mixpanel.com. No Mixpanel account, API key or plan is needed, and nothing is installed locally.
Covers only Mixpanel's public documentation and OpenAPI specs; it cannot query events, reports or any project data (use the separate Mixpanel MCP Server for that). The file-tree tool is read-only, stateless between calls, and offers a fixed set of text commands with no network access. Mixpanel publishes no package or self-hosted version, so it runs only as the hosted endpoint.
Suits developers and analysts who want an assistant to answer Mixpanel how-to and API questions from current docs, for example while writing tracking code or reading the Query API spec, without handing over any credentials. Pick the official Mixpanel MCP Server at mcp.mixpanel.com instead when the assistant should read your own project's events, funnels or retention. Teams that cannot reach outside hosts, or that want the docs offline, can load Mixpanel's llms.txt or llms-full.txt files instead, as its docs page describes.
