What it does

MCP Server Chart comes from AntV, the Ant Group visualisation team. It offers one tool per chart type. The assistant passes data and options to a tool and gets back a link to a rendered image. Supported types include line, area, bar, column, pie, scatter, histogram, boxplot, violin, radar, funnel, sankey, treemap, venn, waterfall, liquid and word-cloud charts. It can also draw flowcharts, mind maps, fishbone diagrams, network graphs and organisation charts, as well as spreadsheets and pivot tables.

The server itself is a thin Node.js process. It sends each chart spec to a rendering endpoint, which by default is AntV's free hosted service at antv-studio.alipay.com. Point VIS_REQUEST_SERVER at a GPT-Vis-SSR instance and rendering happens on your own server instead. Three map tools (district, path and pin maps) use the AMap service and only cover China.

By default it talks to the client over stdio. It can also serve SSE or Streamable HTTP on port 1122, and the repository includes a docker-compose setup. DISABLED_TOOLS hides tools your client has trouble with. SERVICE_ID, created in an Alipay mini program, keeps a history of the charts you generate.

What it needs

Runtime	Node.js

Node.js with npx. Network access to AntV's hosted rendering service, or to your own GPT-Vis-SSR deployment set through VIS_REQUEST_SERVER. You need no account for basic use. Saving a chart history needs a SERVICE_ID made in the Alipay mini program.

Limits

The map tools (generate_district_map, generate_path_map, generate_pin_map) use AMap and only cover locations within China. They also do not work with a private GPT-Vis-SSR deployment. Charts come back as image URLs from the rendering service, not as local files. The server does not keep your results unless you set SERVICE_ID.

Who it suits

A good fit if you want an assistant to produce ready-made chart images from data it already has, with many chart and diagram types and no sign-up. Because the default setup sends chart data to AntV's hosted service, teams with sensitive data should run their own GPT-Vis-SSR and set VIS_REQUEST_SERVER. The alternative is a tool that renders charts fully on your machine. If you need maps outside China, look elsewhere.

Charts are not drawn locally. Each tool call sends the chart type and your data to a rendering endpoint, which by default is AntV's hosted service at antv-studio.alipay.com, and returns an image URL hosted there. Map tools go through the AMap service. Setting VIS_REQUEST_SERVER sends the data to your own server instead. The server reads no local files, runs no shell commands and needs no sign-in. With SERVICE_ID set, generated charts are tied to your Alipay mini-program record. In SSE or Streamable mode it listens on port 1122 (localhost by default).
