GODOT_PATH Optional: Path to the Godot executable (overrides automatic detection).
DEBUG Optional: Set to "true" to enable detailed server-side debug logging.

What it does

Godot MCP connects an AI assistant to a locally installed Godot game engine. It can open the Godot editor for a project, run a project in debug mode, capture its console output and error messages, and stop it again, so the assistant gets direct feedback on whether its changes work.

It also works on project files: listing Godot projects in a directory, reporting a project's structure, creating scenes with a chosen root node type, adding nodes with properties, loading textures into Sprite2D nodes, exporting 3D scenes as MeshLibrary resources and saving scenes or scene variants. For Godot 4.4 and later it can read file UIDs and update UID references by resaving resources.

Simple operations call Godot's own command-line interface; more complex ones run a bundled GDScript file (godot_operations.gd) through Godot. It needs Godot installed on the same machine and Node.js 18 or later, and runs with npx from the @coding-solo/godot-mcp package. GODOT_PATH can point it at the Godot executable when automatic detection fails.
