Douyin_TikTok_Download_API is a self-hosted data API for Douyin and TikTok: one docker compose up runs a service with a REST API, a web console, a CLI and a built-in MCP server, backed by an identity pool that maintains itself, a scheduler and a response cache.
The MCP server offers eight read-only tools. An assistant can resolve any Douyin or TikTok link or share text, fetch a post (video or image album) with its stats and media URLs, read an author profile, page through an author's posts or a post's top-level comments, read a post's or author's recorded metric history from local snapshots, check the health of the identity pool, and collect a slow result later. Downloads, the watchlist, settings and identity management stay in the console and REST API.
The MCP endpoint runs inside the API process over Streamable HTTP at /mcp/ on your instance (http://127.0.0.1:8000/mcp/ with the default compose setup; keep the trailing slash). Clients authenticate with an API key created in the console with douyin:read or tiktok:read scope, sent as Authorization: Bearer or X-API-Key.
